Honoring Mind, Body, & Spirit through all seasons of Womxnhood.
What is a Wise Womxn?
We believe that a Wise Womxn:
researches her options, listens to her inner knowing, trusts her gut, and advocates for herself
seeks out support when needed and knows that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness
unapologetically takes up space
voices her needs and desires despite a world that has conditioned her to stay quiet
rejects the idea that she needs to “do it all” or “be it all” in order to be worthy of love, acceptance, success, and joy
does not strive for self-LESSness. She knows her worth and seeks to increase and celebrate her sense of self
supports and lifts up other womxn and folx from marginalized groups
We believe that every womxn has a Wise Womxn within her.
Sometimes she just needs a little coaxing, a little dusting off, a little uncovering…
Come peel back the layers with us and let your Wise Womxn emerge.
So... What's with the 'x'?
No, it’s not a typo. We intentionally chose this untraditional spelling for a few reasons (it caught your eye, didn’t it?). Our spelling of Womxn represents our commitment to inclusivity of all expressions of femininity.
An ‘x’ could be a kiss. Or your arms crossing in a self embrace.
Maybe it is an invitation to explore your identity outside of the patriarchy.
Perhaps it represents a healthy boundary you set for yourself—“NO to this. Hell YES to that.”
Maybe it is an opportunity to pause and think about the structures and systems you were raised under, the ones that shape you, the ones that imprint themselves upon you… Which of those influences do you want to embrace? Which do you choose to shed?
The ‘x’ is a blank space ready for you to fill with the values, identities, and expressions that resonate with you.
Or maybe we’re just edgy like that. ;)
Our ‘x’ is open to interpretation. What does it mean to you?
“My wish is that I could give other expecting mothers the gift Wise Womxn Wellness gave me—a dream of an experience and a story to want to tell for a lifetime.”
