Planning for birth has become more popular over the last decade or so. Will you birth in a hospital, birth center, or in your very own home? Will you use a midwife or an OB? Will you hire a birth doula? (YES. You will hire a birth doula :) ) Are you hoping to utilize pain medication or go without? You get the gist…
On the other hand… Planning for your postpartum journey? That’s another story. Outside of how much time you and (possibly) your partner will be away from work, most of us haven’t spent much brain power on considering much else about the postpartum period. As a birth doula and therapist that sees a lot of clients in this stage of life, I believe we can (and ought to) do better here. I firmly believe if we, as a society, took better care of our people in this especially tender period of life, our entire world would be so much better off.
Please join me, Kari Goeden (Marriage & Family Therapist + Birth Doula) and Leah Moss-Parham (Ayurvedic Practitioner) for a 2-day workshop focused on supporting you as you prepare for your postpartum period. Participants will come away with tips to build a postpartum plan that is practical, nurturing, and supportive.
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle as there will be some light movement and meditation to begin each day.
